In Maui, the Tradition of exchanging leis at the beginning of the ceremony is very important. It gives you a little time to breathe and relax and realize you're finally "Here!". Its a nice time to share and interact with each other before the "meat" of the ceremony. The groom usually gives the bride her lei first, with a kiss on the cheek, and then the bride gives the groom his lei and a kiss also. There's always that look between the couple that says "this is IT, we're actually getting married!". Then you can continue on the with ceremony, no more worries, stress and just enjoy every moment. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Noland for your lei lesson. Jayanne, Wedding Coordinator
